My Off-and-On Acting Career
Throughout my time working in Theatre and Film there have been times that my role in the production has been on the screen or stage. Here are a selection of some of my favorite acting opportunities...
Lysistrata // December 2017
While assisting Lysistrata at Webster Conservatory we had an actor fall ill the day before our first preview. The plan quickly became to put me into the show ASAP. I got to sing in a punk garage band before the show started with songs from The Talking Heads, The Clash, and the Beastie Boys. I acted the role of Cinesias opposite Caroline Adams as well as Geezer #1 with fellow bandmates Hunter Bell and Mitchell Holsclaw. Shout out to the amazing ensemble who had my back during the show and of course to the director Jamie McKittrick for helping me find my rockstar persona.
The Verge // July 2017
During the summer I was involved in a small experimental theatre troupe's debut theatrical event "The Verge" by Susan Glaspell, directed by Lucas Howard Reilly. I was fortunate enough to play Anthony, Claire's assistant in the greenhouse. I also got to have a hand in shaping the role to myself and to our specific production. This was my first time getting to explore physical theatre in a performative setting and it's a role I will not soon forget.
Phantasmagoria // April 2015
In April of 2015 I was a part of Eddie Martinez' Senior Film Thesis for the University of Texas. The first short film that I've been involved in with sets, lights, special effects and ensemble building rehearsals. As the central character in the film I was very involved in every aspect of the production process. I met so many different passionate filmmakers and it was such a joy to portray an openly gay vampire.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream // May 2022
In May of 2022 I was cast as Tom Snout the Mechanic aka The Wall. We got to perform this classic Shakespeare comedy under a lunar eclipse while out in Zilker park in Austin.
